Chamois, Rupicapra Rupicapra or L. is one of the protected species in Romania . It is hardly found on the peaks of the Carpathian Mountains , at high altitudes .
Hunting is done during the period October 15 to December 15 for the trophy and September 1 to December 15 for selection . Caliber weapons allowed are 5.6 × 50 up. The best time for hunting is 15 October to 30 November .
